Hydroseed Lawns
Hydroseed lawns go in as a single spray of grass seed, mulch, and fertilizer laid over prepped soil. The spray covers a large yard for less than sod and fills in thick across its first growing season, which makes it a practical way to put in a full lawn from bare ground.
Sod Lawns
Sod lawns are grown in at a farm and rolled out over the yard as finished grass. You get a green, even lawn the day it goes down instead of waiting out a season of growth, so sod is the route to take when you want the lawn established right away.
Grading and Soil Prep
Grading and soil prep is the work that goes in before any seed or sod. The ground gets shaped to drain, the soil is cleared and built back up, and the base is set level so the new grass roots in even. A lawn put in over prepped ground holds where one laid on poor soil thins out.
